Cassandra confronts the mayor after uncovering that taxpayer money was used to support the mayor’s own business. Faced with the evidence, the mayor resigns—but not before making one final move that could shape what comes next in Murder in a Small Town.

Based on the novels by L.R. Wright, Murder in a Small Town follows Police Chief Karl Alberg and librarian Cassandra Lee as they navigate complex murder investigations and the hidden secrets of their coastal community. The series stars Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk.

Murder in a Small Town is scheduled to return for Season 3 in January 2027 on FOX. New episodes will stream the next day on Hulu.

Fan Reviews Take.

This clip gives Murder in a Small Town’s civic corruption storyline real consequence: Cassandra’s evidence forces the mayor to resign, while his final move leaves the community’s future unsettled. It should appeal to viewers who like character-driven crime dramas where investigations expose institutional secrets as much as individual wrongdoing. The video also offers a useful glimpse at the tension between Cassandra and Chief Karl Alberg ahead of the series’ announced third season.
