Country singer Jelly Roll was on his way to the 2024 CMT Awards in Austin, Texas when his private plane had to make an emergency landing due to technical difficulties.
Jelly Roll, known for his hit songs “Need A Favor” and “Save Me,” was accompanied by his wife, Bunnie XO, who is a podcast host and internet personality. They had been documenting their travels on social media, giving fans a glimpse into their journey. However, things took a terrifying turn when their plane suddenly stopped mid-air and had to turn around for an emergency landing.
Bunnie XO took to TikTok to share their experience, posting a video with the caption, “Our plane we were on just stopped mid-air & turned around for an emergency landing.” It’s evident that the situation was indeed quite scary for the couple. In another post, Bunnie explained, “When the private jet you’re in just stopped mid-air, turned around & said we had to emergency land because of a malfunction.”
In a video, Bunnie asked her husband what was happening, to which Jelly Roll responded, “The plane just got turned around. They said it’s an issue with the computer.” Despite the ordeal, the couple managed to stay calm and even find humor in the situation. When Bunnie expressed her concern about getting back on the plane, Jelly Roll reassured her, saying, “At least it wasn’t the brakes!”
Following the incident, Bunnie assured their followers that they were both safe, but acknowledged that it had been a frightening experience. She also mentioned that she tends to remain eerily calm during chaotic situations. Thankfully, they were able to continue their journey and arrived safely in Austin for the CMT Awards.
Jelly Roll is not only a nominee at this year’s awards but also a performer. He has been nominated for three awards this year: video of the year, male video of the year, and CMT performance of the year. Last year, he attended the CMT Awards for the first time and took home three awards.
