A Nail Salon Dispute Gets Toxic on Hot Bench

A luxury nail salon known for elaborate “bling nails” lands in a serious dispute when owner Zaccaria receives a cease-and-desist order over acetone fumes allegedly spreading throughout the building.

Landlord Leon Johnson Jr. argues Zaccaria should foot the bill for costly ventilation upgrades, while she maintains she had no warning the fumes were traveling through the building’s ventilation system.

The Hot Bench judges ultimately side with Zaccaria, finding that the commercial landlord was responsible for understanding the building requirements of the business he rented to.
