In an interview, Sam Levinson described Season 3 as a “film noir.” He teased that Zendaya’s character, a recovering addict, will explore what it means to have principles in a corrupt world. The series takes place in the fictional town of East Highland, California, where characters seek hope while dealing with love, loss, and addiction.
