Former president Donald Trump is putting Fox News to the test by demanding that the media company fires Paul Ryan from its board of directors. Ryan, the former House Speaker, recently declared Trump “unfit for office” on Fox News. This didn’t sit well with Trump, who has now decided to seek revenge. He posted on Truth Social, saying, “Nobody can ever trust Fox News, and I am one of them, with the weak and ineffective RINO, Paul Ryan, on its Board of Directors.”
Paul Ryan has faced criticism for remaining on the board of Fox News despite the network promoting Trump’s false claims about his election loss. Trump didn’t hold back in his criticism of Ryan, calling him a “total lightweight” and a “failed and pathetic Speaker of the House.” He even had a message for Rupert and Lachlan, who oversee the Fox media empire: “Get that dog off your Board – You don’t need him. ALL YOU NEED IS TRUMP. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
It seems like Trump is starting his revenge tour early, even before a potential second term in office. Trump recently spoke about revenge during an interview with Dr. Phil McGraw, saying, “Well revenge does take time. I will say that, and sometimes revenge can be justified. You know the word ‘revenge’ is a very strong word, but maybe we have revenge for success. But that’s what I’d like to see. I want to see the country survive because this country is not going to survive like this.”
So, the question now is: will Fox News comply with Trump’s demand and remove Paul Ryan from its board of directors? This situation will certainly test the loyalty of the media company to the former president. We’ll have to wait and see how it unfolds.
