Although ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ has been performing well in terms of viewership, with an average of 7.8 million viewers in the Nielsen ratings this season, it seems that it didn’t meet CBS’s expectations. The show did, however, manage to accumulate over 10 million viewers when accounting for cross-platform viewing within 35 days.
Despite its cancellation, the ‘NCIS’ franchise is not coming to an end. CBS has announced plans to introduce a new spinoff in the 2024-25 season, titled ‘Origins,’ which will serve as a prequel to the original ‘NCIS’ series. This new show will follow a younger version of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Austin Stowell. Fans can also look forward to the return of the flagship series, ‘NCIS,’ and its spinoff, ‘NCIS: Sydney.’

With ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ discontinued, CBS will not be filming a show in Hawaii for the first time since 2010. The series provided stunning visuals of the Aloha State and showcased its unique culture.
